INVITATION FOR BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED BY THE TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, NEW JERSEY FOR MAPLECREST PARK – PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS. THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF SITE CLEARING, MINOR SITE GRADING AND SURFACE PREPARATIONS, DRAINAGE INSTALLATION, CONCRETE CURBING, FENCES AND GATES, LAWN RESTORATION AND RENOVATIONS TO EXISTING RESTROOM FACILITIES.
Contract documents may be accessed by emailing Paul J. Kittner, Township Engineer and Director of Public Works, at pkittner@maplewoodnj.gov at no charge. Prospective bidders will be required to provide their name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address to be used if addenda are required. Bids will be received at the office of the Township Clerk at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040 until:

Bids will be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein as required by the specifications, must be enclosed in envelopes (outer and inner), both of which shall be sealed and clearly labeled with the words CONTRACT BID DOCUMENTS, name of project, name and address of Bidder and date and time of bid opening, and addressed to Township Engineer at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040. A certified check or cashier's check made payable to the order of the Township of Maplewood, or a duly executed Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of each bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 must be deposited by the Bidder together with a Surety Consent evidencing that They can obtain the required Performance Bond and Payment Bond.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27
Bidders shall be advised that State funds through the Green Acres Program are being utilized in this project. Under N.J.A.C. 7:1-5, vendors currently suspended, debarred, or disqualified are excluded from participation on this project.
All Bidders must submit to the Township a Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Division of Revenue, PL 2004 c.57 (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44) and N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.2, it is recommended to submit with the bid submission but must be submitted prior to Contract Award.
Simultaneously with the submission of bids, the corporation or partnership so bidding will furnish a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all stockholders in the corporation or partnership who own ten percent (10%) or greater therein pursuant to Chapter 33, P.L. 1977. Bids will be REJECTED if they do not contain this disclosure statement.
Bidders are notified that they must pay workmen the prevailing wage rate as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry for the project, pursuant to the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act" - Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963.
If awarded a contract, your company/firm shall be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27.
The right is hereby reserved to reject any and all bids or any part thereof or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities and to accept any bid or bids if deemed in the best interest of the Township of Maplewood to do so.
