Responsibilities

The Department of Community Development (DCD) includes the Township's Zoning, Construction, Property Maintenance and Fire Prevention Divisions. The Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment administration also sits within the Department. 

The DCD is responsible for all things related to real property, except for tax assessment and tax collection.  The range of work that goes on within our Department is broad.   Check out the Department's sub-pages here for an in-depth view of what we cover.

The DCD staff also initiates and implements special projects related to business resource and development, meets with prospective developers of residential, mixed-use and commercial properties, and explores sustainable initiatives.
