Maplewood Township's Jitney Service has been designed to transport Maplewood commuters to and from Maplewood Train Station. The Jitney Service runs Monday through Friday (except municipal holidays), on a fixed route.
There are several runs starting each morning from about 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., as well as in the evening from about 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In order to ensure ample space for working commuters, only children commuting by train and accompanied by an adult may utilize the jitney service.
Jitney Fees
- 2026 Combo (Parking/Jitney): $415.00 ($207.50 after June 30th)
- 2026 Commuter Parking Fee: $400.00 ($200.00 after June 30th)
- 2026 Jitney Pass: $165.00 ($82.50 after June 30th)
- Single Ride: $3.00 cash each way (pay exact amount on bus; drivers do not make change)

Proof of Residency is required to process your application
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License
- Valid New Jersey Insurance ID card
- Homeowner's Contract
- Tenant's Lease Agreement
- Utility Bill with applicant's name
Cash, Check, Money Order, Debit and Credit Cards are accepted payment methods for the Parking/Jitney/ Combo passes.
