Bio

Jane Collins-Colding is a member of the Maplewood Township Committee and a longtime community leader with a strong commitment to public service, civic engagement, and community well-being.

Originally from Liberia, Ms. Collins-Colding spent part of her childhood in Kenya before immigrating to the United States at age 17. These experiences shaped her lifelong dedication to service and advocacy. She has lived in the South Orange–Maplewood area for nearly two decades with her husband, Russell, where they have raised five children and fostered more than 20 others.

Ms. Collins-Colding is the founder of Feed2000, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing food insecurity and supporting community development both locally and internationally. Through Feed2000, she has organized food drives, coordinated donations of essential supplies, and supported educational initiatives in New Jersey and in Liberia.

She is also an entrepreneur and the owner of Ambarella Beauty, a natural skin and hair care business inspired by her Liberian heritage.

In addition to her role on the Township Committee, Ms. Collins-Colding has been active in local and statewide civic organizations, including serving as Chair and Co-Founder of the New Jersey Black Empowerment Coalition, where she has worked to promote civic participation, voter engagement, and community empowerment.

As a Township Committee Member, Ms. Collins-Colding brings her experience in nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, and community advocacy to municipal governance, with a focus on strengthening Maplewood as an inclusive and engaged community.
