Nixle Police Alerts are issued from the Maplewood Police Department (MPD), and generally include road closures (when MPD has advance notice), power outages, incidents causing a large police response, and major crimes or possible threats to the public. If a major crime takes place, the Nixle alert may be vague with a directive to steer clear of the area as we respond.
